Get over it Silk Road has always been ran like this and I know I i didnt mess up because I like any other moderator was not told about the change either we found out just like every other member of the forum. It's the way DPR does things, he's always done them that way and I'm pretty sure it will contuinue that way. It's not a big deal and it's something everyone has to live with, so it is what it is and we all move on.i know how to use SR and also a forum. the only places i go on the forums is RumoR Mill and then straight to Avengers thread. have been doing so since i started using SR. Of course i can read other sections of the forum. If i can keep getting inboxed with spam then a simple "hey you're a newb read this section" message would have been great. Clearly i read the other section and figured out what was going on but at first i always assume PICNIC ( Problem in Chair Not in Computer). Not trying to say you guys messed up or anything....but i doubt i was the only person who was confused by this and it would have helped lol thanks guysI am actually pretty upset about this. THE only reason i joined SR was because whatever i was getting got too difficult to obtain. Ive been submitting reviews and posting comments in the Avengers LSD review thread and the offical lsd review thread...a few days ago i realized that i couldnt post anything and was not aware of this new rule. I had no way of knowing what was going on and when going to support there was no helpful info. i understand your reason for doing this but it should have been made aware to all users via PM to let them know before they go reinstalling software and checking settings for hours.
A simple PM to a moderator would have answered your questions...also cant all newbs read the other sections of the forum?

Thank you for the replies. I think I will stick with the anon id here on the forums. SR is a wonderful place and I hope all will treat it with respect. I can also understand the 50 post rule, but already I see spammers spamming their way past it, so without Sr. Mods here watching for this kind of activity it is self defeating IMO. I also think we need a Sr. mod or at least members to participate here, otherwise it is as my subject head...Hardly the blind leading the blind.

I can help with that last part...$$$This site is a farce, anyone got any ideas how it can be returned to its former nongayishness?
If you want to host your own forum, here's the software necessary to do it.
It's all free.
http://download.simplemachines.org/ (http://download.simplemachines.org/)
You'll need a web host that accepts bitcoins. if you don't know one, i would recommend btclot
http://btclot.com/ (http://btclot.com/)
Since you need to configure a Tor hidden service, you'll need a VPS (virtual private server) or better. No "web hosting service" will allow you the control to install a Tor client onto the server.

gracias nomad, read the vendor page i should have remembered that. although none of the vendors i have used have specified this, maybe the best thing to do is read their profile page and determine how paranoid they are, I've dealt with a few paranoid vendors, others more laid-back. Encrypt sensitive info for the paranoid ones. i think a lot of vendors and veterans of SR would agree exncrypting normal messages is pointless... but... I guess i like to be paranoid too, better safe than sorry
I find it's best to Pm a vendor before you ever add a listing to your cart to see how the vendor prefers to do things and also I generally throw in some random questions to see how they reply to personally judge how this person will deal with the actual transaction. I like to ask them questions on their listings and about at what levels price breaks might occur and look at their shipping options and ask about things they dont cover on their profile, just pretty much gain as much info as I can before I decide it add them to a potential vendor list. I go over all vendors that carry what I'm in the mood for and carefully research them several ways and compare the vendors to each other as well as the different ways the vendors professionalism can be judged. I combination of several different aspects are always better than just using one.

oh wow nomad, really...? I've been here and came after the one of the gawker articles so a lot of people assumed I was LE or a scammer because of that tony guy (tons of paranoia then, and i heard even more discord before i showed up) so I just read profile pages and used my best judgement, asking questions like shipping might be a possible LE tactic don'tcha think? Maybe SR has changed a lot since my last order and there are a ton of vendors aiming to please now but when i first joined i didn't ask very many questions just kind of hoped for the best and took the plunge. Am I being too paranoid again??
